To make animations on Roblox, you first need to create a poseable character rig. Open Roblox Studio and go to the Avatar tab. Use the Rig Builder to create your character rig, choosing either R15 or R6 and selecting the preferred body shape.
Next, set up the Animation Editor by navigating to Plugins and opening the Animation Editor. Select your rig and name a new animation file. Create keyframes by clicking the + button and selecting Add All to include all parts of the rig.
Once your keyframes are ready, start creating poses. Set the neutral pose by adding keyframes to the rig’s current position. Adjust the animation time and use the Rotate and Move tools to position body parts. Add keyframes for each pose to store the information.
To finish and loop the animation, copy the keyframes from the first pose and paste them at the end of the animation. Adjust if needed and toggle Looping on.
Finally, export and publish the animation by clicking the ellipsis button in the Animation Editor and selecting Publish. Follow the prompts and click Submit. Copy the animation ID, which you can use in Roblox animations. Create a script in the workspace and add the animation ID to play the animation in a game.
