Monopoly Go is not the traditional Monopoly game. While it shares some similarities, the differences are significant. Monopoly Go is a single-player game, unlike the classic multiplayer Monopoly. You don’t trade properties; instead, you own all properties from the start and build landmarks.
Traditional Monopoly involves strategic gameplay, but Monopoly Go relies heavily on chance. Your main actions are rolling dice and making purchases with earned money. The game also has a daily energy system, limiting your dice rolls each day.
Monopoly Go includes social features like interacting with other players’ boards, but these are limited to random events such as stealing money or damaging landmarks. The primary goal is to build and upgrade landmarks, which is not a feature in the original game.
There’s no bankruptcy in Monopoly Go. Unlike the classic game, you don’t aim to bankrupt other players. Instead, it’s a casual, free-to-play game that uses the Monopoly brand but offers a different experience.
