To make hair in Roblox, start by exporting the hair model from the Roblox catalog. Use the “Load Catalog Items” plugin to download the hair model, then right-click in Roblox Studio and select “Export selection.”
Next, you’ll need to model the hair in Blender. Open the scene with your Roblox character and add a curve circle to create the hair shape. Use the mirror tool to make your work easier and decimate to lower the tris count. Shape the circle by selecting and moving vertices, and use the free handle type to adjust the meshes.
For adding hair texture, create streaks of color and overlap UV maps. It helps to use a hair texture pack for reference. This will give your hair a more realistic look.
You also need a cap underneath the hair. Copy the default head mesh into Blender and remove the lower half of the vertices to create this cap.
Finally, export the hair model and texture back to Roblox. Remove any existing head or face items, place the hair model in the textures folder, and rename it to “face.” This will make your custom hair appear in the game.
