To make animations in Roblox, start by setting up the Animation Editor. Open Roblox Studio and select the Avatar tab. Click on the Animation Editor, which will appear at the bottom of your screen.
Next, create a character rig. In the Avatar tab, click on Rig Builder. Choose the rig type (R15 or R6) and body shape (masculine or feminine). Opt for the block Avatar type for common animations.
Prepare the animation by selecting the character rig and opening the Animation Editor. Adjust the camera view to focus on the part you wish to animate. Ensure Rotate and Move are unchecked in the Snap to Grid section.
Create poses and keyframes by clicking the + button and selecting Add All to include all parts in the rig. Set keyframes for each pose by right-clicking on the top bar and selecting Add Keyframe. Use the Rotate and Move tools to adjust the rig for each keyframe.
Save and export the animation by clicking the … button and selecting Save. Then, click the … button again and select Export. Copy the animation ID for use in Roblox animations. For advanced control, you can script animations using Lua, setting up animation priorities and using the animation ID in scripts.
