To make a Squishmallow, start by gathering your materials. You’ll need 1 yard of soft fabric such as fleece or minky, polyester stuffing, basic sewing supplies, a ruler, and optional felt for details.
Next, cut two oval-shaped pieces of fabric, each about 8 inches long and 6 inches wide. These will be the front and back of your Squishmallow.
Place the two fabric pieces together with the wrong sides facing out. Sew around the perimeter of the oval, leaving a small opening for turning and stuffing.
Turn the fabric right side out and stuff it with polyester stuffing until it’s nice and plump. Avoid overstuffing to keep it soft and squishy.
Close the opening by sewing it shut with a hand stitch or a sewing machine. A ladder stitch works well for this step.
Add facial details, clothes, or other personal touches using materials like felt, embroidery floss, or yarn. Customize your Squishmallow as you like.
Your Squishmallow is now complete! Enjoy it yourself or give it as a thoughtful, handmade gift.
