To animate in Roblox, start by creating a poseable character rig. Open the Avatar tab and click on Rig Builder. Select the desired rig type like R15 and choose a body shape. Click “Generate Rig” to create your character rig.
Next, open the Animation Editor. Go to Plugins and choose Animation Editor. Select your rig, name the animation, and click “Create”. This opens the Animation Editor where you can start animating.
Begin creating keyframes by setting the animation time on the top bar. Use Rotate and Move tools to pose the rig. Right-click on the top bar and select “Add Keyframe” to save each pose.
Add multiple poses by repeating the time setting and posing steps. Add keyframes for each pose and use Copy and Paste functions if needed. This helps in creating smooth transitions.
Once done, save and export the animation. Click the ellipsis button, select “Save”, and then “Export”. Copy the animation ID for scripting. Create a local script in the starter player folder and use the animation ID. Adjust the animation speed if necessary.
