Rare Beauty is disability-friendly thanks to its unintentionally accessible packaging. The products, like highlighters, blushes, and lipsticks, have unique shapes and designs. These features make them easier to grip and open for people with dexterity issues.
The sphere-shaped caps on some items allow for a secure grip and easy twisting. This design helps those with limited hand mobility use the products without struggle. The matte finish on bottles and tubes provides a non-slip surface, aiding in ease of use.
Though the packaging was not originally designed for people with disabilities, it has made the products more accessible. Rare Beauty noticed these benefits and is working to improve accessibility further. They have launched the “Made Accessible Initiative” to enhance usability for individuals with disabilities.
This initiative includes partnering with the Casa Colina Research Institute. The goal is to study and improve product usability for those with disabilities. Rare Beauty aims to make beauty products that everyone can enjoy, regardless of their physical abilities.
